Program Overview

The Digital Film School at CAT, Kelowna offers its students a one and a half year long diploma program in Digital Filmmaking. This is a very interesting program available for students who are passionate about movies and wish to make a career out of filmmaking. Such courses train students to create digital programming not only for feature-length films, but for all types of media, including scripted TV dramas and sitcoms, reality shows, documentaries, corporate training films, animation and video journalism. 

The faculty that is in charge of this program comprises of a number of professionals in the field of filmmaking who have firsthand experience and training and hence, can efficiently guide students throughout the program. A number of professional career options open up for students after finishing this diploma such as Camera Operator/Director of Photography (DOP), Lighting Technician, Production Assistant, Locations Audio, Screenwriter, Producer, Director/Assistant Director, Independent or Documentary Filmmaker, Editor, Grip/Gaffer and Production Designer.
