Program Overview
There is a growing need for engineers with expertise in heritage conservation and sustainable building design and operation. Learn a modern approach for the design and retrofit of buildings that holds sustainability as the guiding objective while respecting architectural history and significance. Consider the life cycle costs and environmental impacts of building materials, energy demand, occupant comfort, and the effective reuse and conservation/rehabilitation of existing structures.
The Architectural Conservation and Sustainability Engineering program is fully accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board, allowing graduates to meet the educational requirements for registering as a professional engineer.
Work Experience
A Co-op option is available. Co-op is the opportunity to get a head start on a career. Co-op work terms allow for the development of key employability skills, exploration of career options and graduation with tangible, workplace experience. The program also has a first-year internship opportunity.
