International Year One in Business, Management and Marketing
The International Year One in Business, Management & Marketing will develop your subject knowledge and English language skills, whilst preparing you to join the second year of your chosen undergraduate degree at the University of Huddersfield’s Business School.
Just like the first year of an undergraduate degree, the International Year One is a two-semester programme with a choice of modules. You will have the additional benefit of smaller class sizes and more support to help you develop your academic knowledge, study skills and language abilities to prepare you for your degree.
You will study several modules, which deliver specialised academic content as you would expect during an undergraduate degree, depending on your chosen area of study.
Why study Business, Management & Marketing?
Once you have succesfully completed International Year One in Business, Management and Marketing, and achieving the required grades, you will join the first year of your undergraduate degree at the University of Huddersfield.
Leading to: Electronic and Electrical Engineering BEng (Hons)
Electronic and electrical engineering features in most of our everyday activities - think of any object or system and question the engineering behind its functions. The varied nature of the subject is interesting and challenging and society needs electronic and electrical engineers of the future to be innovative and adventurous. Many of the devices that will form your future have not yet been conceived, you could end up working on new technology, or designing and creating new processes that could improve everyday life and the society we live in.
Our course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), which means that on completion you will satisfy the academic requirements for Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status. Once you've spent the required time in industry it could then lead to CEng status, your professional engineering qualification.
This course provides you with the skills to convert theory into practice so that you may become an innovator of the future. We cover the generation, distribution, application and control of electrical energy because managing the systems that keep society running in a sustainable manner is vital. We'll explore the principal aspects of electronic and electrical engineering, investigating areas such as, sustainable power generation, integrated electronic and electrical systems and performance and electronic control of electric machines.
In our Electronic and Electrical Engineering subject area, all of our degree programmes share the same first year of study, which means you can leave your options open until the start of your second year. During your first and second year you'll take part in our initiative called EnABLE (Engineering in an Activity Based Learning Environment). This will give you the opportunity to work together in small teams solving real Electronic and Electrical Engineering problems and testing your solution against other groups in a supportive and friendly competitive environment.
