Additional Information

Careers / Further study

• Graduates from this course have gone on to employment in the healthcare sector, teaching and academia, with many going on to take PhDs in the biomedical sciences.
• It's important to note that to become a biomedical scientist in the UK you must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). This is a legal requirement for anyone using the title "Biomedical Scientist".
• To become registered with the HCPC you will need to ensure your degree meets the HCPC standards. This is done by completing an Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) accredited degree or a HCPC approved honours degree in biomedical science. Please note, that although the MSc Biomedical Science is accredited by the IBMS it does not fulfil the requirements to gaining registration with the HCPC.

If your degree was not IBMS accredited you can apply for a degree assessment.

Scholarships

We are happy to announce the following scholarships for the students:

• UG Year 1: £2000
• PG and Advanced Entry: £1500

Conditions: Payment must be received between 23rd July and 2nd August and must be reflected in the university accounts. Additionally, students must formally request the scholarship via email to [email protected] no later than 2nd August. Requests received after this date will not be considered.

The email request must include the student's ID, payment receipt information, email address, and contact number.

There are various options through which a student can get a post study work visa in the UK. 
Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa for the graduates with a genuine and credible business idea. 
Tier 2 (General) is the leading immigration visa to work in the UK.
Tier 4 Doctorate Extension Scheme is for students who have completed their Ph.D. and is valid for 12 months for them to work, look for work or set up a business. 
Tier 5 Youth Mobility is for individuals of certain countries like Australia, Canada, Japan, Monaco, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, and New Zealand aged between 18 -30 who wish to move to the UK. 
Tier 5 GAE is for individuals who want to come to the UK for work experience, training, research or a fellowship. 
UK Ancestry is for individuals who are a citizen of a commonwealth and plan to work in the UK and have a grandparent who was born in the UK.
