Careers / Further study

• The MArch course not only introduces design skills, but in the second year focuses on the experience of working in an architecture practice, preparing you for the next stage of your architecture career. The course has RIBA and ARB Part II accreditation.
• Our award-winning careers service helps you develop your employment potential through career coaching, a vacancy service for internships, placements, jobs, global opportunities, volunteering and community activity plus support for entrepreneurial activity, and access to employer events.

Fieldwork

• Each year, we arrange a field trip that is integral to the studio projects, so you can study cities and buildings, attend public lectures and, on occasion, meet local organisations and students. Destinations so far include Istanbul, Amsterdam, Paris and New York.

Scholarships

Two new scholarships for PGT students with a payment deadline of 01 June 2026.

• £2,500 scholarship for students who pay an £8,500 deposit
• £3,500 scholarship for students who make full payment

No separate application is required. The payment must be completed and reflected in the UWE account by the deadline, after which the scholarship details will be included in the CAS letter.

• Postgraduate Scholarship September 2026 intake deadline: 01 August 2026. 

Eligibility

International fee-paying students with an offer for a full?time, in?person PGT course who meet all entry requirements and are not receiving another UWE tuition fee reduction.

UWE Bristol Global Success Scholarship

The UWE Bristol Global Success Scholarship is a three-year award for international undergraduate students at UWE Bristol.

The scholarship offers a reduction of up to £9,000 over the three years of study, helping students develop academically, professionally and personally, while actively contributing to the UWE Bristol community. 

Key eligibility:

• Offer to study a full-time undergraduate degree (course exclusions may apply)
• Meeting academic and English language requirements 
• Not already sponsored or receiving another UWE tuition discount
• Submitting the scholarship application within 14 days of receiving the invitation 

Continuing eligibility (years two and three)

The scholarship in years two and three is subject to you fulfilling specific engagement activities in each year of study. These include participation in student support, marketing and recruitment initiatives, helping future students learn more about life at UWE Bristol.

Activity will be monitored throughout your study. If you don't meet the minimum engagement requirements, your award will be forfeited in continuing years.

Application process:
Eligible applicants are automatically considered when applying for a qualifying course. Those who meet the criteria will receive an email invitation to apply and must respond within 14 days. 

Continuing eligibility:
Awards for Years 2 and 3 depend on students completing annual engagement activities, such as supporting student experience, marketing, and recruitment initiatives. Insufficient engagement may result in the scholarship being withdrawn for these years.

There are various options through which a student can get a post study work visa in the UK. 
Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa for the graduates with a genuine and credible business idea. 
Tier 2 (General) is the leading immigration visa to work in the UK.
Tier 4 Doctorate Extension Scheme is for students who have completed their Ph.D. and is valid for 12 months for them to work, look for work or set up a business. 
Tier 5 Youth Mobility is for individuals of certain countries like Australia, Canada, Japan, Monaco, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, and New Zealand aged between 18 -30 who wish to move to the UK. 
Tier 5 GAE is for individuals who want to come to the UK for work experience, training, research or a fellowship. 
UK Ancestry is for individuals who are a citizen of a commonwealth and plan to work in the UK and have a grandparent who was born in the UK.
