Careers / Further study

• You'll be well equipped to practise physiotherapy in the NHS, industry, private practice, sports and leisure centres, in the UK and overseas.
• Many physiotherapists work in hospitals and the community, specializing in outpatients' departments, intensive care, stroke services, orthopaedics, elderly care and paediatrics. You might provide treatment and advice for patients and carers in their homes, in nursing homes, day centres, schools or health centres.
• Some graduates also choose careers in teaching or research, or continue with postgraduate studies.

Professional accreditation

• This course is approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), which means you will be eligible to apply for registration as a physiotherapist with them when you graduate, a prerequisite for practice.
• After the course, you can also apply to join the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists.

Placements

• Students who go on work experience tend to graduate with better degrees. Experience also hones your skills, industry knowledge and professional network, making you a sought after graduate.
• With 30 weeks of work placements, you'll spend a third of the course applying your knowledge and building professional skills in the workplace.
• We have excellent links with leading employers across the South West, including the NHS, and private and voluntary sector organisations.

International opportunities

• In your second year, you can do a 12-week placement in Finland with our partner Lapin AMK or the University of the arctic Circle in Tromso (Norway) through the Erasmus scheme. We're also part of the European Network of Physiotherapy in Higher Education (ENPHE), which encourages links and shares good practice between European universities and organisations involved in physiotherapy education.

Scholarships

We are happy to announce the following scholarships for the students:

• UG Year 1: £2000
• PG and Advanced Entry: £1500

Conditions: Payment must be received between 23rd July and 2nd August and must be reflected in the university accounts. Additionally, students must formally request the scholarship via email to [email protected] no later than 2nd August. Requests received after this date will not be considered.

The email request must include the student's ID, payment receipt information, email address, and contact number.

There are various options through which a student can get a post study work visa in the UK. 
Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa for the graduates with a genuine and credible business idea. 
Tier 2 (General) is the leading immigration visa to work in the UK.
Tier 4 Doctorate Extension Scheme is for students who have completed their Ph.D. and is valid for 12 months for them to work, look for work or set up a business. 
Tier 5 Youth Mobility is for individuals of certain countries like Australia, Canada, Japan, Monaco, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, and New Zealand aged between 18 -30 who wish to move to the UK. 
Tier 5 GAE is for individuals who want to come to the UK for work experience, training, research or a fellowship. 
UK Ancestry is for individuals who are a citizen of a commonwealth and plan to work in the UK and have a grandparent who was born in the UK.
