As a student in the Water Science and Environmental Health program, you'll learn the underlying scientific principles, processes and theories concerning the physical, chemical and biological properties of water and the factors that play a critical role in maintaining ecosystem and human health.
Through a combination of training and practical work experience, including co-op, you'll identify and solve ongoing threats to our water resources including those caused by human activities and climate change. You'll be able to recognize that the availability of safe, clean water and its resources is a fundamental question of social justice.
This program will help you develop the skills needed to apply quantitative and computer analysis to assess, monitor and sustainably manage land and water resources. You'll understand the critical need of government responsibility for managing and protecting water and Earth's resources.
Throughout your studies, you will feel empowered to contribute to the quest to improve the availability, security and reliability of human water supplies, while ensuring the whole ecosystem and human health.

CO-OP FOR WATER SCIENCE AND ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH STUDENTS
Water Science and Environmental Health is an interdisciplinary program jointly operated by the departments of Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Geography and Environmental Studies. Students completing a Water Science and Environmental Health degree learn about hydrology, limnology, biogeochemistry, toxicology, biology, water governance and policy.
HOW WATER SCIENCE AND ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH CO-OP WORKS
Co-op gives you the opportunity to develop skills and gain real-world experience while completing paid work terms. You apply for admission to co-op at the beginning of second year and may be eligible for an admission interview in November.

The Stay Golden at Laurier scholarship is for international undergraduate students who begin their studies in fall 2024 or winter 2025 and achieve an admissions average of 80% or higher. In the first year, the scholarship ranges in value from $1,500 to $6,000 CAD, and as long as you meet the renewal requirements, you will receive $5,000 CAD in each upper year of your program at Laurier.

The Post- Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) allows you to work for three years in Canada if you have completed a two years degree or more.
You can either apply online or download the form and mail the application along with the required documents. Pay your fee and then wait for the decision to come.
To apply for the work visa, you need a degree from a recognized and accredited Canadian University along with an intention to stay and work in Canada only temporarily.
