Program Overview

This programme provides students who have an interest in accounting or finance with a solid academic background which will prepare them for the workplace or postgraduate training. Students will acquire key technical accounting and finance skills and will also develop their knowledge of a broad range of topics which will enable them not only to understand financial information but also how to link it to broader decision making.

The Accounting and Finance programme at Swansea University can provide up to 9 exemptions from the ACCA professional accreditation, the maximum exemptions available from a UK academic degree.

Are you looking for an Accounting degree to give you a competitive edge? The BSc Accounting degree at Swansea University will do just that.

If you want a career at one of the ‘big four’ accounting firms (Deloitte, EY, KPMG or PwC), or if see yourself as an accountant for a government body, small or large business, not-for-profit organisation, or individual, the BSc Accounting degree will equip you with everything you need.

This degree is ideal if you are dedicated to a career in accountancy. Accredited by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), this course can fast-track an accountancy career by permitting exemptions from key professional examinations.

As an accountant, you will play a fundamental role in the running of a business – big or small. Managing budgets and taxes, financial reporting, completing audits - all are critical in ensuring that a business or organisation runs as effectively and successfully as possible.
