Students can enter either in Semester One or Semesters Two of University Foundation depending on their qualifications. Students are guaranteed progression to the first year of a relevant degree, only if the progression criteria are met.
Languages, TESOL and Translation Pathway
Swansea is the only University in the UK to offer the unique BA Honours English - Chinese Translation and Interpreting program to students with a native or near-native command of Chinese Mandarin, plus a high level of competence in English as a foreign language.
Successful completion of this pathway will lead to English Language and TESOL BA from Swansea University.
BA English Language and TESOL
English Language and TESOL degree covers everything you need to know to be able to teach English as a foreign language.
Teaching English is a great way to see the world and will give you a passport to teach in all kinds of environments.
During your four-year degree you’ll learn about theory and practice, language teaching methodology, vocabulary, grammar and meaning, psycholinguistics, first and second language acquisition and discourse analysis.

There are various options through which a student can get a post study work visa in the UK.
Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa for the graduates with a genuine and credible business idea.
Tier 2 (General) is the leading immigration visa to work in the UK.
Tier 4 Doctorate Extension Scheme is for students who have completed their Ph.D. and is valid for 12 months for them to work, look for work or set up a business.
Tier 5 Youth Mobility is for individuals of certain countries like Australia, Canada, Japan, Monaco, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, and New Zealand aged between 18 -30 who wish to move to the UK.
