Pre-Masters Programme in Engineering and Sciences (2 Term), Leading to Master of Science in Nanoscience

Program Overview

Pre-Masters Programme in Engineering and Sciences
Pre-Masters Programme in Engineering and Sciences, this two-term pathway will prepare you for your chosen postgraduate degree at the Faculty of Engineering or Faculty of Science.

You’ll study useful skills for your Masters degree, such as research skills and communication, as well as an optional route module related to your progression goals. Our Academic English Skills module ensures your language ability is suited to postgraduate study at a UK university.

Once you have completed the Pre-Masters Programme in Engineering and Sciences, and subject to satisfying the progression criteria, you can proceed to your postgraduate degree at the University.

Leading to: Nanoscience MSc
Our MSc Nanoscience degree explores the frontiers of science on the nanoscale. It provides a strong grounding in basic nanoscience before progressing to advanced topics. The strongly interdisciplinary research in the physics of life sciences groups links the fundamental science to applications in chemistry, biology and medicine.

Taught classes on this Masters course have been developed from the many years of nanoscience research at the University in areas such as:

  • nanoscale imaging
  • nanoparticle fabrication and functionalisation
  • chemical physics
  • computational modelling of the nanoworld
