International Foundation Year in Art, Media & Architecture
The International Foundation Year in Business, Management & Law will prepare you for an undergraduate degree in fields such as accounting, finance, law, marketing and logistics.
You will study core modules, which are general skills subjects, and optional modules tailored to your chosen area of study, all of which are important for your academic development.

Once you have succesfully completed International Foundation Year in Business, Management and Law, and achieving the required grades, you will join the first year of your undergraduate degree at the University of Huddersfield.

Logistics and supply chains are at the forefront of our national economies and require managers who can face the challenges of an ever-changing business environment and seek out ways to continually improve. Career paths in this sector are diverse and attract those with a broad range of skills, such as analytical, planning, decision-making, people and process management, innovative thinking, and communication skills. The Business with Logistics and Supply Chain Management is a professional programme which has been developed to provide you with the workplace skills required for a career in this sector.
In the first year you’ll study the building blocks of business and you’ll start to examine how leading companies organise and manage their logistics and supply chains to ensure success. We will also develop your skills in leadership, decision making and focus ontopics such as planning and control of operations, managing sourcing, manufacturing and physical logistics, and looking at ways which these can be done. This course offers a credited Personal and Academic Development Module, which provides on-going guidance on developing your personal and employability skills and an opportunity to complete a placement year as we want to make you employment-ready so you can take the next step in your career.
This course is part of the full NOVUS scheme, an innovation developed between the university and the NOVUS Trust. The Trust is an industry-led organisation that focuses on developing talent in the transport, logistics and supply chain management sectors. Being part of the scheme opens up wider opportunities for work experience and networking with professionals in the sector through access to a company mentor, as well as a guaranteed third year work placement and guaranteed graduate job if you secure a 2:1 or above. The full NOVUS scheme runs alongside the Business with Logistics and Supply Chain Management course. To join, you will need to successfully pass a series of short assessments held at the start of the first year of your studies.

Scholarships for your pathway programme and degree at Huddersfield:
How does it work?
Scholarships of up to £4,000 are available for students studying a pathway programme at the International Study Centre. These scholarships are awarded to students based on merit and are subject to availability. For more information, please contact your local representative.
Once you progress to the University of Huddersfield, the University then award scholarships of £2,000 each academic year to international students progressing from the International Study Centre. These scholarships apply to every year of your degree programme in the UK, except for placement years.
Am I eligible for the joint scholarship?
The scholarship is available to students studying the International Foundation Year, International Year One and Pre-Master’s programmes at the International Study Centre. At the University, you must be studying either a BA, BSc, BEng, MA, MSc or MBA to be eligible for the scholarship.
How do I get a scholarship?
The joint scholarship is available for self-funded students at UK universities, paying full overseas fees.
University scholarships are applied automatically on progression from the International Study Centre, with no application required.
There are various options through which a student can get a post study work visa in the UK.
Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa for the graduates with a genuine and credible business idea.
Tier 2 (General) is the leading immigration visa to work in the UK.
Tier 4 Doctorate Extension Scheme is for students who have completed their Ph.D. and is valid for 12 months for them to work, look for work or set up a business.
Tier 5 Youth Mobility is for individuals of certain countries like Australia, Canada, Japan, Monaco, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, and New Zealand aged between 18 -30 who wish to move to the UK.
Tier 5 GAE is for individuals who want to come to the UK for work experience, training, research or a fellowship.
UK Ancestry is for individuals who are a citizen of a commonwealth and plan to work in the UK and have a grandparent who was born in the UK.
