Studying at the International Study Centre will develop the English language and academic skills you need to succeed in an undergraduate degree at University College Dublin. Progress to UCD with the International Foundation Year in Business, Economics and Social Sciences. This pathway leads to undergraduate study at the renowned Quinn School of Business, the College of Social Sciences and Law as well as the College of Arts and Humanities.
Sustainability: Social Sciences, Policy and Law
Sustainability is the great challenge of our time. It is enshrined in the Sustainable Development Goals and achieving it will require an integrated approach to the protection of the Earth and its inhabitants. This unique programme combines the economic, environmental and social dimensions of sustainability, enabling specialisation in one of those dimensions complemented by knowledge and skills from the others. Core modules provide a global perspective on sustainability and include interdisciplinary research, a professional placement, field work in Ireland and Europe and guest lectures from leading researchers, advocates and practitioners.
This unique 4-year course combines the economic, environmental and social dimensions of sustainability, enabling specialisation in one of those dimensions complemented by knowledge and skills from the others. Minimum Level of Education Required: To be accepted for this program, students must have Standard XII Higher Secondary Certificate in 5 subjects with minimum 55% in specific subject requirements.

Graduates will enjoy careers as consultants, managers and advisers in large organisations and private businesses. An interdisciplinary education in sustainability theory, policy and practise will equip you to work in areas such as renewables, clean technology management and energy efficiency, or advise industries on social and environmental strategies. Many opportunities also exist in international organisations such as the UN, the European Environment Agency and the European Commission, government departments and state agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency and the National Parks and Wildlife Service and in local authorities and Non-Governmental Organisations.
Undergraduate scholarships for international Students:
University College Dublin and the International Study Centre are offering joint scholarships of up to €19,000 to international students.* The scholarship is available towards your tuition at the International Study Centre, as well as for your chosen progression degree at UCD.

The following scholarships are available for students studying an International Foundation Year at the International Study Centre. After progressing to your undergraduate degree, you will continue to receive funding towards your study in Ireland. The two different scholarships are:

All self-funded students are eligible for the joint scholarship, excluding those who are progressing to degrees in Economics and Finance and Biomedical Science Health and Life Sciences. Sponsored students are not eligible for these scholarships. To be eligible, you must:
