Diploma in Construction Engineering Technician

Program Overview

In two years, the Construction Engineering Technician program will prepare you to carry out technical functions related to a broad range of construction projects.

You’ll learn to prepare and interpret blueprints and specifications, apply sustainable construction practices, operate surveying equipment, and assist with construction layout and estimating. Get hands-on experience with the safe operation of tools and equipment, as well as construction materials testing. Build skills that are key to success in the civil engineering industry with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

A co-op placement in the summer semester before Year 2 offers real-world experience with a local employer. When you graduate, you’ll be prepared for technician-level roles across residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and government sectors.

Courses in carpentry, mathematics, surveying, estimating, concrete and framework, technical communication, soil mechanics, project management and law, municipal services, and structural analysis will build the skills needed to support supervisors, engineers, and contractors.
