Program Overview

You will learn about current and emerging energy technologies, as well as the economic and financial aspects necessary for their implementation. You will also develop leadership and decision-making skills to implement energy systems in either the private or public sectors of the global market. Additionally, you will be exposed to a combination of academic and corporate experience.

The curriculum has four core courses in engineering and finance in addition to four electives that relate concepts such as power strategies, energy renewal, sustainable energy solutions, energy storage, energy conversion, and energy efficiency.

The program is ideal for the engineer or technical business major interested in pursuing an industrial or public planning career.

  • An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering/scientific/quantitative problems.
  • An ability to explain and apply engineering design principles, as appropriate to the program’s educational objectives.
  • An ability to produce solutions that meet specified end-user needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
  • An ability to recognize industrial engineering tools/principles needed for in many areas, including healthcare systems, supply chains, logistics and transportation engineering, manufacturing, sustainability, resilient systems, energy systems, and human-in-the loop systems.
