International Student Award

The University of Western Australia is offering a $5,000* per year tuition fee reduction for students from selected countries. The International Student Award promotes a diverse student community and helps more students from around the world achieve their study and career goals at UWA.

If you’re looking to start studying in 2026, you could receive a fee reduction of up to AUD$20,000* over a four years on eligible undergraduate courses or up to AUD$10,000* over two years on eligible postgraduate courses.

General eligibility

To be eligible for the International Student Award, you will need to:

• Be citizen from Argentina, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Maldives, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Thailand, Uruguay, Venezuela or Vietnam
• Be applying to The University of Western Australia as an international student on an Australian student visa
• Study an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate course offered by the University and published in the UWA Handbook
• Be enrolled to study a full-time course load

Students who have completed their studies in Australia can apply for a Post Study Work Permit or a Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) to continue working in Australia post the completion of their study programs. As an international student, one can apply for the visa but not later than six months after completing your course. But to be eligible, you must meet the Australian Study Requirements, which include a minimum of 16 months of stay in Australia and a completing 92 weeks of a course registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
