With an applied experimental psychology degree from CMU, you'll take a scientific approach toward questions in psychology and put the answers to use in a wide range of businesses, research centers, universities and government agencies. Experimental psychologists use scientific methods to collect data and perform and publish research. Experimental psychologists have a passion for solving problems and exploring theoretical questions.
As a student here, you can develop research expertise in applied cognitive psychology, social psychology, personality, and behavioral neuroscience.
You’ll determine your field of study and connect with our faculty who will help you develop strong research skills. You’ll gain mentors and lifelong colleagues. You'll study a wide range of behavioral topics among humans and animals, including sensation, perception, attention, memory, cognition, emotion and more.
Our students publish research, take on internships and leave the program ready to make real and lasting changes for the people and places for which they work.
