Designed for those with a non-accounting undergraduate degree, our STEM-designated Master of Professional Accounting (MPAC) gives you the right credentials to switch careers or progress upwards in your organization.
This program is designed for those who have earned an undergraduate degree in a non-accounting major (including any business major, liberal arts, and/or humanities) who want to pivot to the accounting profession.
Albers' MPAC program enables you to gain highly sought-after knowledge by today's employers.
Your coursework is designed to help you become an accounting professional. Our curriculum walks you through the coursework needed for a deep conceptual understanding of the extensive material required for the CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), and ACCA (Association of Certified Charter Accountants) exams. The curriculum also includes courses on data analytics, visualization, as well as auditing in a world of emerging technologies.

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):
