Program Overview

In the Bachelor of Commerce, you’ll study a set of extensive and integrated foundation units that will orient you to commerce and business, followed by one or two majors to develop depth and specialisation in your chosen discipline. You’ll also acquire a set of sought-after employability skills – data literacy, business analysis, teamwork, communication, conflict resolution, problem solving, critical thinking and a global mindset, among others – all key competencies that today’s top employers regard extremely highly.

The hallmark of Macquarie’s Bachelor of Laws is its recognition of the way legal frameworks underpin such global issues. You’ll be challenged to think critically about the law to seek innovative solutions to legal problems – skills highly valued by employers. With the option to combine your law degree with any other Macquarie bachelor degree, you can open the way to an array of careers in legal practice, private industry, government, education and community services.

Major: Human Resource Management
The Human Resource Management major will prepare you to respond to new challenges and changes in the workplace. It focuses on the processes and techniques that create and maintain high-performing, efficient and ethical organisations. You’ll engage in aspects of day-to-day operations, strategic thinking and decision making. You’ll study change management and sustainability techniques, gain consulting skills, and learn how to formulate effective recruitment strategies. Areas that you’ll acquire expertise in include workforce and succession planning, equity and diversity, performance management and human resource development systems, and the creation of sustainable and ethical organisations.
