Major: Creative Writing
Creative writing goes outside the bounds of professional, journalistic, academic or technical forms of literature. It’s typically identified by an emphasis on narrative craft, character development and the use of literary figures. Studying creative writing allows for artistic self-expression, and will help you to better understand the mechanics of reading and writing.

The Creative Writing major equips you with both theoretical knowledge and practice-based skills. You’ll learn about the production and publishing contexts in which writing occurs, as well as the cultural and social issues that shape writing in Australia and internationally.

Students who have completed their studies in Australia can apply for a Post Study Work Permit or a Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) to continue working in Australia post the completion of their study programs. As an international student, one can apply for the visa but not later than six months after completing your course. But to be eligible, you must meet the Australian Study Requirements, which include a minimum of 16 months of stay in Australia and a completing 92 weeks of a course registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
