Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Pathway to Bachelor of Technology

Program Overview

Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology

The function and understanding of electrical principles is crucial in today's world. Everything from our lights to computers operates with the help of electricity and electrical components.

NAIT's Electrical Engineering Technology is a nationally accredited and internationally recognized program that provides a comprehensive study of electrical principles and practices.

The program will provide you with the skills to perform entry-level roles in several industry disciplines, including power systems operation and protection, maintenance and commissioning, electrical machines, industrial and commercial design, power electronics, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).

Ladder into Bachelor of Technology in Management (BTech)

NAIT’s Bachelor of Technology in Management (BTech) degree is the only program of its kind in Alberta and one of just a few similar programs in Canada. If you’ve graduated with a 2-year technology diploma, the BTech program offers the opportunity to earn a baccalaureate degree with only 2 additional years of study.

The BTech degree has been developed to help you bridge the gap between the job you started as a technologist and a career in management. There is a demand for leaders who can address the technological challenges of today’s economy while contributing to socially aware and ethical business decisions. The BTech degree will help you develop the critical skills needed to make a difference in your organization and industry.

We offer three concentrations designed to meet industry demand and give you a competitive edge:

  • Project Management
  • Operations Management
  • Sustainability Management

In the General Management concentration, you will forge a unique learning path within the BTech degree. Tailored for those aspiring to elevate their technical skills to new heights with leadership and management training. Build your academic plan to incorporate courses from operations, sustainability, project management, and business fundamentals.

Why choose this pathway?

  • One of Canada’s most affordable bachelor's degree programs*
  • Eligible to apply for a PGWP for up to 3 years**
  • Receive a $10,000 BTech Scholars Award
  • Earn both a diploma and bachelor's degree in as little as four years
  • Gain in-demand technical and management skills employers are looking for
