In today’s dynamic and complex business environment, those with superior technical skills in accounting, analytics, economics, finance, human resources, international business, management, marketing or supply chains, will find success as in-demand business professionals across an increasingly broad range of sectors.

The practical and flexible Master of Commerce builds on the knowledge and skills you’ve acquired through professional experience or undergraduate studies in commerce and business. It will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of all business functions alongside a set of well-regarded practical and transferable skills, including sustainable and ethical thinking, communication, problem solving, strategic thinking and teamwork. You’ll have the opportunity to develop new areas of expertise or advance your knowledge by completing one or two specialisations in key areas of demand.

Specialisation: Digital Finance

Part of a worldwide boom in innovation, fintech is the use of technology to improve business activities in finance. Australia has one of the world’s most dynamic fintech industries, with a strong growth forecast.

In the FinTech specialisation, you’ll attain advanced-level theoretical and practical knowledge of fintech, as well as an understanding of major technological trends in the banking and finance sector. You’ll learn how to apply your superior technical skills to examine, interpret and appraise financial information and market conditions. You’ll conduct independent research and solve sophisticated financial problems in complex contexts using sound professional judgement. You’ll also develop your awareness of ethical, social, regulatory, economic, sustainability and global perspectives relevant to the financial sector, with a particular focus on the adoption of financial technology.

AQF level 8 bachelor honours or graduate diploma qualification in a related field or recognised equivalent, or
Meet two of the following three criteria:

- Two years relevant approved work experience, professional certification or other recognised prior learning
- AQF level 7 bachelor qualification or recognised equivalent with a WAM of 65 or higher, or a minimum WAM of 60 together with a GMAT score of 600 or higher

Students who have completed their studies in Australia can apply for a Post Study Work Permit or a Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) to continue working in Australia post the completion of their study programs. As an international student, one can apply for the visa but not later than six months after completing your course. But to be eligible, you must meet the Australian Study Requirements, which include a minimum of 16 months of stay in Australia and a completing 92 weeks of a course registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
