Program Overview

The Master of International Business/Master of International Relations provides a unique opportunity for students to gain two postgraduate awards at Master's level over a two year period.

Students will diversify their knowledge and skills by studying across complementary discipline areas, graduating with a clear industry advantage. In particular, graduates will have an appreciation of the integration of strategies, business processes and systems within an evolving global context.

This program will appeal to those looking for an innovative, research-informed and practical program, designed to meet the changing needs of business, community and government enterprises. Graduates will be equipped with current knowledge and practical expertise, coupled with the ability to gain a critical appreciation of the role and practice of supply network management in local and global business.

With globalisation, many domestic areas of public policy have come to incorporate an international dimension. The priorities and agendas of domestic politics are increasingly shaped and contextualised by events, pressures and constraints at the regional and global levels. For postgraduate students of international relations, gaining an understanding of the world of business will equip them with the professional knowledge, analytical tools and organisational skills to significantly enhance their graduate outcomes, whether in government, international organisations or domestic/international non-government organisations. For international policy practitioners and AusAID scholarship recipients, the program will develop academic skills, professional capacities and knowledge in world affairs, while also teaching best practice in public policy environments.

This double degree program will equip graduates to analyse and make strategic decisions with an understanding of international business and international relations, in a rapidly expanding and dynamic global environment.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply you must:

Be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand.
Be a full-time student starting in Trimester 2, 2025.
Accept your offer to study at Griffith and make payment within 14 days of receiving your Letter of Offer. The acceptance date for this award will be outlined in your Letter of Offer.
Be studying an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program. See the Terms and Conditions below for excluded programs and cohorts.

Terms and Conditions

Griffith University academic and English language entry requirements apply, including results of previous study and English language proficiency.
The award covers 10% of undergraduate or postgraduate coursework tuition fees for the first trimester of study only, for students commencing in Trimester 2, 2025.
Students must accept their Letter of Offer and pay their total deposit fee by the award acceptance date specified in official University communication. This award will be granted as a non-refundable credit on the student account. Should a student withdraw or cancel for any reason, the award amount is non-refundable.
Students who defer commencement to an intake after Trimester 2, 2025 are not eligible to receive the award.
If eligible, the Early Acceptance Award will apply in addition to other Griffith International student scholarships.
Students must be International Fee Paying to qualify for the award.
Excludes students enrolling in Higher Degree Research, non-award, Study Abroad Program, Masters Qualifying Program, Dental (1577, 1613, 1638, 1574, 1580, 2126, 5702, 5703, 5699), Psychology (5070, 5747, 5753), Medical (1280, 5099), Nursing and Midwifery (1162, 1354), Master of Speech Pathology (5567), Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (1604), Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) (1662), Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) (1590), English language programs at the Griffith English Language Institute, programs delivered wholly online, programs only offered part time, programs delivered onshore or offshore in collaboration with a partner organisation.
Students must not be Australia Award/Australian Government scholarship recipients, foreign government scholarship recipients or on a pathway package with Griffith University.

Work Permit

PGWP

Students who have completed their studies in Australia can apply for a Post Study Work Permit or a Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) to continue working in Australia post the completion of their study programs. As an international student, one can apply for the visa but not later than six months after completing your course. But to be eligible, you must meet the Australian Study Requirements, which include a minimum of 16 months of stay in Australia and a completing 92 weeks of a course registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).

The professions which are the highest in demand in Australia are Cabin Crew members, Chefs, Account Managers, Teachers, Architects, Interior Designers, Engineers, and Marketers.
