Professional Master of Science by Research in Construction Project Management

Program Overview

If you’re a graduate in construction-related employment or with previous experience, or you’re seeking a senior project management position within the industry, this is the course for you. You’ll gain in-depth understanding of the specific issues and complexities that are part of construction project management. You’ll develop the skills needed to find solutions that meet the client’s requirements and expectations, while evaluating the environmental impact, time, and budget in the most efficient way.

Within the rapidly evolving, expanding and thriving global construction industries, the role of Construction Project Managers (CPM) is in high demand. The responsibilities of a Construction Project Manager (CPM) range from logistically leading / managing projects, including risks, through the project life-cycle to building completion and beyond. Being able to negotiate challenges, and issues such as environment, sustainability, resource, and material procurement shortfalls are integral to the role.

Construction Project Management at UoG provides a pathway to a successful career within the construction industry. We have strong industry links with companies such as Arup, Atkins, Jacobs and WSP. Locally, organisations such as Forest of Dean Council, Gloucester City Council and Natural England provide opportunities for internships, practical challenges, and workshops that will prepare you a career in construction. These industry connections not only enhance your graduate prospects but also provide a practical context for your studies.
