Master of Professional Accounting Advanced with Specialisation in International Business

Program Overview

If Professional Accounting (MPA) Advanced is a two-year course designed for non-accounting graduates who want a career in the accounting profession and want to enhance their learning experience by including another discipline specialisation within their course. The learning experience and knowledge areas in the MPA Advanced are focused on the practice of accounting.

Within the MPA Advanced, you can choose to complete one of three possible specialisations, depending on your career aspirations:

  • Financial management - focus on areas of financial management such as banking and securities.
  • International business - broaden your knowledge of intercultural aspects of the business environment.
  • Business analytics - utilise and interpret data to inform business strategies and add value to businesses.

Throughout the degree, you will be supported by our dedicated student support services built around your individual needs. Our student advisors, academic staff and careers consultant are available each week for advice and guidance.

Additionally, this degree provides the opportunity to network with your peers, members of the local business community and alumni with a number of social and semi-formal events.

Specialisation: International Business

The international business major within the Bachelor of Business offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed for success in the global marketplace. It involves examining the interactions, transactions, and operations of organisations that span national borders. Throughout your major in international business you will explore the socio-economic, legal, political, financial, and cultural factors affecting regional markets. The final-year capstone subject allows you to apply everything you have learned in collaboration with students from other disciplines. Plus, you have the option of applying for an internship to gain valuable experience whilst receiving credit towards your degree. Major topics include financial management, international management with elective choices in employment relations, strategic management, industry, and trade in Southeast Asia, and virtual and or professional experiences.
