• This award provides enhanced employment opportunities in the financial sector. Specifically through its exemptions from Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualifications it provides a fast route to gaining a professional accountancy qualification. These accountancy qualifications are internationally recognised so a career in accountancy will enable successful students to broaden their careers into an international arena. The BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance award will also enhance the opportunities of successful students in the fields of banking, finance, financial services and business management, by providing an enhanced exposure to accounting, finance and business knowledge and skills.
• The degree can also be used as the basis for postgraduate study. For example, the Business School has an MSc Professional Accounting & Finance which provides an opportunity for you to both complete your ACCA qualifications and also gain a Masters in Accounting and Finance within an eighteen month period.
