Program Overview

Columbia College (CC) and the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) have partnered to provide a pathway program for CC students. CC Students who complete an Associate of Science Degree in Computer Science are eligible to gain entry into BCIT’s Bachelor of Technology in Forensic Investigation (Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity option).

Associate of Science Degree in Computer Science

An Associate Degree is equivalent to the first two years of a four-year university degree. Universities in British Columbia will guarantee 60 transfer credits to holders of an Associate Degree. Students must meet the grade point average (GPA) established by each university for admission. Upon completion, students qualify to apply for a post-graduate work permit in Canada.

Program Overview

The Associate of Science Degree in Computer Science provides students with knowledge of the principles and science that underlie computing. It also prepares students to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Students will build a solid foundation in computer systems, software engineering, foundational programming, web development and systems design.
Graduates will acquire working knowledge of computer architecture and data science.
Students will gain practical skills in solving computing problems of our digital age through the use of mathematics.
Students will be taught to program and innovate software catering to modern technology and design.

To qualify, Columbia College students must:

Earn 60 credits at CC, covering:

English Composition & Literature (6 credits)
Calculus & Math courses (6 credits)
Science courses, including labs (12 credits)
3 second-year Computer Science (CSCI) courses
Arts and elective courses (12 credits)
Maintain a GPA of 2.0 (C average) on all applicable coursework.

Extract digital evidence, investigate cybercrimes, and reduce cyber-related threats

Columbia College is offering an Early Acceptance Scholarship worth 3000 CAD to any student who pays their deposit before May 30, 2025. Guard.me Scholarship for International Business Students	In the Winter Semester of each year, one scholarship worth $5000 is awarded to an outstanding international student in the field of Business. This scholarship is provided by guard.me, the provider of the Columbia College Student Medical Plan.
Scholar Path Program	Scholarship for Students Transitioning from Columbia College to a Baccalaureate program at a Canadian University The Scholar Path Program provides financial assistance to students and alumni who have successfully graduated or are transferring from a program at Columbia College and have demonstrated exceptional academic performance, leadership potential, and a commitment to their chosen field of study. The scholarship will be open to all students/alumni who have completed a minimum of 30 transfer credits at Columbia College and have been admitted into a Bachelor’s program at a Canadian University. Applicants who are Canadian Citizens or who have obtained Permanent Residency in Canada are eligible to receive $10,000 towards their first year of studies at a Canadian University. International students on a study permit are eligible to receive $30,000 towards their first year of studies at a Canadian University.
