Foundation Studies Program

The Eynesbury College Foundation Studies Program (FSP) is an intensive program, preparing international students for entry into their first year of undergraduate study at the University of Adelaide or an Eynesbury Diploma.


Program Structure

Required modules: Students will study 3 core modules, as well as 3 elective modules in their area of study interest. Students will be graded on a score out of 500 which is used for entry to the University of Adelaide.

Major: Film Studies

Film studies helps you develop the skills needed to critically evaluate films. As a film studies student at The University of Adelaide, you will study a range of techniques used in films to generate and analyse reactions from viewing audiences. From the use of pop culture and current world events, to trending topics and themes in films – discover what makes a quality film.

As a film studies student you will:

  • Explore the history of film
  • Discover the theoretical, historical and critical approaches to analysing film
  • Learn about film classics and what factors make a classic
  • Examine film adaptations of literary works and the issues and debates surrounding them
  • Advance your critical thinking, writing and analytical skills
  • Investigate how films reflect and deal with conflict and tension within contemporary culture.
