In the Animal science Major, you will explore the issues that are set to dominate the future of agriculture, including unpredictable water supply, climate change, food security, environmental impacts of agriculture, and sustainable animal production systems. You will learn how science and innovation are critical in developing solutions to these issues, playing a critical role in securing Australia's role as a key food producer in the global economy. In combining studies in chemistry, animal biology and nutrition, disease, biochemistry, and data science you will examine how to sustainably manage animal production in Australian farming systems whilst minimizing the impacts on the environment.
