Major: Molecular and cellular biochemistry

If you're curious to understand our bodies at the molecular scale, La Trobe’s Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry major is your gateway to exploring the fundamental processes that underpin life and disease. After mastering the fundamental concepts of biology and chemistry through the core 1st and 2nd year Biomedicine subjects, you’ll delve into the components and molecular processes that govern the functions of our cells and organs. The skills and knowledge you’ll obtain through this major will equip you for careers that involve develop new therapeutic, preventative and diagnostic tools to tackle major diseases.
