Program Overview

This major is designed for students interested in teaching in elementary school or middle school. The following course work, offered by the Department of Child and Adolescent Development, satisfies San José State University’s requirements for a BA in Child and Adolescent Development (ChAD) with Preparation for Teaching. The Commission on Teacher Credentialing in the state of California (CCTC) recognizes Teacher Prep degrees as verification of subject matter competence.
