First and foremost, tourism has generated a large number of jobs and home grown businesses. Tourism is benign for developing and under developed nations which need money to help their economies grow. Capilano University offers an undergraduate program, Diploma Tourism Management, which is a two year program that has produced a number of successful graduates. 

The students at Capilano study the business of managing and marketing various tourism products, including destinations, hotels, restaurants, attractions and events.
