The University's Bedford campus is home to one of the largest education providers in the UK. The quality of our provision is based on a long and established history of teacher education.
During the course you will spend around 70% of your time in placement schools where you will be trained across the 11-16 age range. You will develop the skills and knowledge to teach art and design in a creative and imaginative way, using a variety of different approaches. You will also engage with relevant research literature and develop the skills of a reflective and research informed practitioner.
You will attend subject-specific sessions, lectures and seminars, which are designed to develop awareness and understanding of professional issues, the nature and content of the art and design curriculum and the role of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in the teaching of art and design, and issues such as planning and assessment.

High Achievers Undergraduate Scholarship for India
Our High Achievers Undergraduate Scholarship for India is worth £3000 off international tuition fees for each year of study. To receive the award, the below criteria must be met. Applicants must be:
Students who are successful in being awarded the scholarship will not be eligible for any other scholarships or bursaries, but will be eligible for the £1000 prompt payment discount on tuition fees.
Vice Chancellor's Scholarship for Postgraduate Students
On all Master’s postgraduate degree courses commencing in the 2026/27 academic year, including MBA, international students not receiving any of our other scholarships will receive the Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship, which is a reduction of £1,000 off their first year’s fees.
Students progressing from one of our undergraduate degrees to Master’s programmes would not be eligible for this award as they receive the Alumni Scholarship.
Students who are awarded this scholarship will not be eligible for any other scholarships or bursaries, but will be eligible for the £1000 prompt payment discount on tuition fees.

Tier 4 Doctorate Extension Scheme is for students who have completed their Ph.D. and is valid for 12 months for them to work, look for work or set up a business.
