The Bachelor of Science in Social and Economic Development Policy will equip you with the knowledge you need to work on the front lines of public policy development, opening doors to careers that are actively engaged with the social, economic, and environmental policy issues that are as fundamental today as they will be decades into the future. You will also focus on the role technology plays in alleviating poverty, as well as how technology shapes economic competitiveness.
Moving into your coursework in the Master of Public Administration program, you’ll build the skills and knowledge needed to be an effective public or nonprofit manager. This program combines academic rigor with a practical orientation toward management and policy analysis. The M.P.A. program prepares students to be leaders in public, private, or nonprofit sector careers and cultivates professional growth opportunities in a variety of fields.

Illinois Tech offers competitive scholarships at both undergraduate and graduate level. Most of our scholarships are merit-based and do not require an additional application. We offer limited need-based scholarship at undergraduate level.
Amount/ Range
Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):
