• Minimum level of education required :- To be accepted for this program student must have undergraduate degree in related subjects (e.g. Accounting, Economics, Human Resources, Marketing, Event Management, Risk Management) may be suitable, subject to meeting the minimum entry requirements below
• the degree should contain at least 80 credits relevant to business, these credits must be within the following subjects:
  • a minimum of 15 credits in Accounting and Finance
  • a minimum of 15 credits in Economics
  • the remaining credits coming from modules in Business Management relevant to the school curriculum (eg Marketing, Human Resource Management, Management)
• applicants must be able to demonstrate evidence of recent study (within five years of the course start date) related to relevant Information Technology Skills. (NB study in Computing Science is not accepted)
• demonstrable evidence of recent Information Technology Skills, include eg achievement of ECDL, National 5 or Higher Administration & IT. Other alternatives at a minimum of SCQF level 5 will be accepted on an individual basis subject to the agreement of the Admissions Selector
• alternatively, applicants can undertake European Computer Driving License (ECDL) if they do not have IT knowledge
• Higher (SCQF Level 6) English Grade C or above
• National 5 (SCQF Level 5) Mathematics Grade C or above

As well as academic qualifications, you will need to demonstrate:

• evidence that you have experience of working with children in a secondary school setting or related context
• an understanding of modern secondary education
• an ability to relate to people

Please Note Due to the limited number of places and the high volume of applications received for certain subjects it may be necessary to have the Mathematics and English qualifications in place at the time of application.

Careers

• A degree in education will equip you for a range of careers working with children and young people.
• Most of our PGDE graduates go on to work as teachers in secondary schools across the country.  
• Secondary School Teachers in Scotland use the Curriculum for Excellence framework. They work with their class to develop skills and abilities, and encourage the pupils to expand their knowledge and understanding further.

There are various options through which a student can get a post study work visa in the UK. 
Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa for the graduates with a genuine and credible business idea. 
Tier 2 (General) is the leading immigration visa to work in the UK.
Tier 4 Doctorate Extension Scheme is for students who have completed their Ph.D. and is valid for 12 months for them to work, look for work or set up a business. 
Tier 5 Youth Mobility is for individuals of certain countries like Australia, Canada, Japan, Monaco, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, and New Zealand aged between 18 -30 who wish to move to the UK. 
Tier 5 GAE is for individuals who want to come to the UK for work experience, training, research or a fellowship. 
UK Ancestry is for individuals who are a citizen of a commonwealth and plan to work in the UK and have a grandparent who was born in the UK.
