As a sport marketing and media major, you can turn your passion for sports into an exciting career. From the very beginning of your degree program in sport marketing & media at USD, we've integrated career preparation into your curriculum. You can study topics ranging from advertising and public relations to graphic design, sport marketing and broadcasting to multimedia production and digital storytelling.
Position yourself to cover every aspect of the sport marketing & media industry. Promote a brand with social media marketing, develop a communication strategy for a business, produce sports reports or a short film, or publicize a college athletic team. Sport Marketing and Media
Our interdisciplinary program focuses on media skills with business and sport communication components. New media technology and marketing skills are combined to meet the demands of a changing marketplace. You will choose from courses in the Departments of Media & Journalism, Beacom School of Business marketing program, School of Education kinesiology and sport management program and the Department of Communication Studies.

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
