Program Overview

International Year One (UTP Stage II): Environment, Earth, and Resources

International Year One (UTP Stage II): Environment, Earth, and Resources is equivalent to the first year of a bachelor’s degree from UM’s Clayton H. Riddell Faculty of Environment, Earth, and Resources. Tackle environmental issues that challenge the future of our planet in the only faculty in Canada that brings together experts from a variety of disciplines to offer multiple perspectives of the Earth.

Leading to: Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Earth Science specialization in Geology

The earth sciences deal with the history of the Earth and its life, especially the history recorded in rocks. The Department of Earth Sciences gives students the theoretical and instrumental expertise needed to tackle many resource extraction, mineral processing and environmental problems.
