International Year One (UTP Stage II): Arts is equivalent to the first year of the University of Manitoba’s Bachelor of Arts degree. Faculty of Arts graduates acquire oral and written communication skills, research abilities and critical thinking skills that are highly sought by employers in a variety of fields.

The dissolution of the former Soviet Union has changed the social, political and economic environment of Central and Eastern Europe.

Our interdisciplinary program explores the massive social and cultural changes in Central and East European countries that have dominated the world's attention. Students will study literature, cinema, languages and cultures of the region, state formation and democratization, privatization, new market economies and more.
