The School of Health and Kinesiology (H&K’s) graduate program prepares students for careers in health, physical education, exercise science, athletic training, and physical activity. By fostering the development of evidence-based work, we train students to be lifelong learners who can perform leadership roles as educators, practitioners and researchers.
Health Behavior Concentration
The School of H&K offers a master's degree with a concentration in Health Behavior which builds on a health-related undergraduate degree. The graduate program offers two MS degree options: thesis (30 hours of coursework, 6 hours of thesis) or non-thesis (36 hours of coursework and a comprehensive exam).
A Health Behavior concentration prepares the graduate student for positions with agencies and organizations whose mission is to improve health of the public through education and advocacy. Many choose to stay in their present position but are able to then infuse more education and advocacy for health in their job.

OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):
