What You Will Learn
 

In our state-of-the-art Alternative Energy Centre, you will gain hands-on experience performing installation, maintenance and operational tasks with a wide range of clean energy technologies. You will also learn a range of software applications to design optimized clean energy systems, perform energy auditing and management, measure and monitor energy system performance and analyze systems for feasibility and financial planning.

Program breakdown

Semester one — Introduction

  • Foundational knowledge: Understand the basic chemical, thermodynamic and physical principles of energy generation and storage.  
  • Software proficiency: Gain hands-on experience with industry-standard software used in the energy sector.  

Semester two — Foundations

  • Energy systems: Learn about key alternative energy systems such as solar, geothermal, wind and fuel cells.  
  • Technical skills: Explore specialized energy equipment, including solar modules and wind turbines.  

Semester three — Analysis and design

  • Analytical skills: Conduct system analysis and evaluate the performance of alternative energy solutions.
