What Is Civil Engineering?
Civil engineering is a proud profession that has been key to the development of the United States from its inception. This is especially true in Alaska, where nearly every part of the state’s infrastructure has been designed and built by civil engineers, including the Alaska pipeline, the Yukon River bridge and the state’s ports, harbors and airports. Many of those projects involved UAF civil engineering graduates.
If you are a creative problem solver who has an interest in using sophisticated technology to aid in community development and confront the challenges of pollution, climate change and infrastructure, civil engineering is the career path for you.
