Master of Arts in Criminal Justice and Policing

Program Overview

Criminal Justice and Policing (MA) will explore the operation of the criminal justice system. It provides an insight into the theoretical foundations of policing together with an understanding of the criminological theories of crime.

The team delivering this programme have a wealth of experience both in a professional and academic capacity and are able to bring that experience to the classroom.

Students will gain knowledge of international developments in criminological and criminal justice research and the impact of social, political and economic factors on policing, crime and criminal justice policy.

Students will also study contemporary issues, such as cybercrime, terrorism and response policing.

Students are encouraged to take the opportunities that have been developed with a number of organisations for placements and volunteer work.
