Through weekend and evening delivery the BSc Mental Health degree offers a unique blended learning experience for individuals either currently working within the mental health field who wish to further develop their knowledge or for those wishing to pursue careers in mental health with no previous experience.
What you will learn
The BSc Mental Health degree is designed to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and understanding of how and why individuals may develop mental health difficulties. Delivered through a flexible learning pathway, consisting of mainly weekend delivery; both on-campus and online, the programme explores how we can help prevent, reduce and support such individuals in a variety of individual and group settings within the field of mental health.
The programme has also been specifically structured to incorporate strong employability and professional skills, including a strong focus on small group work and a module offering work placement hours. The programme is structured around a coherent development of theoretical understanding, practical and research skills, and ethical and professional issues pertinent to the field of mental health and wellbeing.
Within a supportive environment, students can choose to enrol on the full BSc degree pathway or may wish to enrol on the level four Certificate of Higher Education before considering moving to the Diploma of Higher Education or the full degree.
