Build your skills for the workplace studying our Developing Leadership and Management degree. Explicitly focused on employability and career progression, this programme is designed to help you to develop skills and other qualities that enhance your ability to critically analyse and challenge information, arguments and assumptions, frame and address problems, questions or issues, work in teams and learn to communicate effectively - common requirements in both academic and employment situations.
Employability skills, including business and customer awareness, problem solving, communication, research skills and application of information technology, are embedded within the programme and are transferable, enabling you to progress to a range of career paths.
You will be introduced to approaches, strategies and skills considered essential for employment and become familiar with the role of discussion and debate in the process and resolution of problems, developing your emotional intelligence and ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team, along the way.
The course provides a range of learning experiences designed to help you gain and apply knowledge. A variety of teaching approaches are used, delivered in a supportive learning environment. You will also develop as a reflective practitioner, able to define and achieve both personal and professional targets.
Students usually join the Level 5 and Level 6 of this programme following successful completion of the level 4 Cert HE Employability Skills, although it is possible to join Level 5 after the completion of another level 4 qualification.
