Southern Cross University Branch Campus Merit-Based Scholarship for applicants applying from within Australia
This Scholarship recognises and celebrates the achievement of students, offering up to $24,000 over 3 years for undergraduate and up to $16,000 over 2 years for postgraduate international students who achieve meritoriously through their degree.
How do I apply for the scholarship?
The application and selection processes are automatic except where a student chooses not to participate. While the application and selection processes are automated, students will sign to acknowledge understanding and agreement to the Terms and Conditions as part of the Admissions process.
Who can become Merit-based Scholars?
The key criterion for future students is that they are international students applying from within Australia, who meet the minimum admissions entry criteria, studying eight units in their first year. Future students will be offered a $8,000 fee reduction in the first year.
Continuing students will be eligible to receive the same opportunity or a portion thereof in a merit-based structure determined by GPA. GPA thresholds are as follows:
When will the Merit-Based Scholarship be offered?
The scholarship will be offered to commencing and current students during the March, July and November 2024 intakes.
Students who have completed their studies in Australia can apply for a Post Study Work Permit or a Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) to continue working in Australia post the completion of their study programs. As an international student, one can apply for the visa but not later than six months after completing your course. But to be eligible, you must meet the Australian Study Requirements, which include a minimum of 16 months of stay in Australia and a completing 92 weeks of a course registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
