At Niagara, you will experience a comprehensive education that combines theoretical and experiential learning methods to prepare you for an advanced practice role as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
This innovative 49-credit program affords learners 780 direct patient care and simulated clinical hours in accordance with NTF standards for NP education. Students develop advanced practice skills in order to safely assess, diagnose, and treat individuals across the lifespan. Graduates of this program are eligible to sit for FNP national board certification offered by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Knowledge, skills, and competencies for advanced practice nursing and FNP specialty care are built across the curriculum. A state-of-the-art simulation center bridges theory with clinical experiential learning. A mixture of general practice precepted clinical experiences and specialty observations are also incorporated into the program.
