Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with Concentration in Computer Engineering

Program Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is a 128-credit hour degree offered in Temple University’s College of Engineering and focuses on control systems, electromagnetics and electronics.

Electrical engineers innovate and design the systems that help keep buildings, computers, factories, power grids and telecommunications productive and efficient. They also design electric motors, radar and navigation systems, robots, and all other electronic devices.

A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or electronic engineering is required to become an entry-level professional electrical engineer. Some advanced professional positions also might require advanced degrees or professional licensure.

Electrical engineers need a solid grounding in the core subjects of the electrical engineering discipline. At Temple, these include analog and digital circuit design, as well as discrete and continuous signal processing, programming and circuit design. This education will prepare you with the skills in mathematics, physics, reasoning and more that are necessary in the field.

As an electrical engineering student, you’ll develop teamwork skills, the precision to match designs to their specifications and the capacity to execute projects on schedule. You’ll then amplify your expertise by adding technical electives that broaden your range or target your skills to the specific areas of engineering that most interest you.

Computer Engineering Concentration
Learn to design and develop computers, microprocessors, networks and workstations for the servers and switches that support the internet. Learn to manage the integration of hardware and protocols that support the telecommunications network.
