International Year One in Science and Engineering Leading to Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (STEM)

Program Overview

International Year One

International Year One allows students to take credited SF State preparation courses alongside additional academic and English language instruction. The vast range of credit courses on offer allows first-year students to both discover new fields and further explore already strong subjects.

Once International Year One is completed, students proceed directly to their second year of degree study at SF State.

Leading to Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

The areas of emphasis currently offered are mechanical design, thermal-fluid systems, and robotics and controls. Graduates of the Mechanical Engineering program are expected to have, within a few years of graduation:

  • Established themselves as practicing professionals or engaged in graduate study in mechanical engineering or a related area.
  • Demonstrated an ability to be productive and responsible professionals.Acted as representatives of their profession in their communities.
