Program Overview

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Bridge to the University of Victoria program is offered by Camosun College with co-operation of the University of Victoria (UVic). Students with an approved diploma in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related discipline, can take this one year program to upgrade their mathematics, sciences, and related engineering knowledge in preparation for entering the third year of Engineering at the University of Victoria.

Learning Outcomes
At the completion of the program, students will be able to:

  • Apply a foundational knowledge of engineering-related mathematics to engineering studies.
  • Display an understanding of chemistry as applied to engineering problems.
  • Apply “C” and object-oriented programming languages to engineering problem solving.
  • Display an introductory knowledge of the function of electronic components as they relate to engineering applications.
  • Display a basic knowledge of signal and systems analysis, and apply it to the solution of electrical engineering problems.
  • Display a fundamental understanding of statics, dynamics, work and energy as applied to engineering problems.
  • Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of discrete structures as applied to electrical and computer engineering problems.
