Bachelor of Laws (honours) / Bachelor of Arts in Behavioural Studies

Program Overview

Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts is a dynamic double degree that allows you to bolster your practical knowledge of the Australian legal system with a grounding in arts and humanities. With a wide range of exciting specialisations to choose from, you’ll be able to tailor your studies in line with your career goals and passions.

As a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts student, you will also have the opportunity to study overseas and undertake work-based projects through the Monash Law Clinical Legal Education Guarantee, providing the real-world experience needed to transition into the workforce.

This course offers opportunities for students to focus on issues of policy and governance in addition to direct legal services. Our graduates have gone on to work across a range of areas including diplomacy and trade, human rights and international law, intellectual property and publishing, advertising, marketing, entertainment law and international business.

Major: Behavioural Studies
You’ll develop insights into your own behaviour and motivations, as well as those of others, making you a socially aware and interpersonally effective employee. Discover how to apply social psychological principles to important problems, such as domestic violence, cyberbullying, euthanasia, eating disorders, climate change and terrorism.

Breakthroughs in behavioural studies have led to a better understanding of anti-social behaviour, consumer behaviour, crime and more.

Taken alongside one of the other majors in Social Sciences(anthropology, criminology, gender studies, human geography, international relations, politics or sociology) a minor in behavioural studies plays a vital part in preparing you for employment in areas that involve the understanding, management and direction of human behaviours and relations.
