Journalism is more than reporting; it's about connecting with people and cultures around the world to tell stories that matter.
Curtin’s Master of Multimedia Journalism (Global) will equip you with strong reporting skills and a background in international relations and human rights, preparing you to become an influential voice in an interconnected world.
Across two years of study, you’ll gain journalism expertise across all media platforms, including online, radio and video, reflecting the versatility required in today's newsrooms.
Under the guidance and mentorship of seasoned industry experts, you’ll build a portfolio of work as you report for Curtin’s news website, Western Independent, and develop professional experience using industry-standard technology and facilities including our television studio.
Our formal partnerships with all major media companies in WA will provide you with access to valuable internship opportunities during your study. Imagine learning from industry giants such as Seven West Media, ABC, WAtoday or Network 10!
You can also choose to focus your skills in an area of interest, such as sports or political reporting. In your final year, you’ll sharpen your research skills and analytical thinking through a professional journalism project or research dissertation.
Our journalism graduates have found work all over the world, contributing to critical discussions on topics such as the war in Ukraine and the 6 January US Capitol attack. With our strong reputation for nurturing job-ready graduates, this course is an excellent option to equip you with the necessary expertise to thrive in the fast-paced global media landscape.
